C May 2, 2005 12 According to the White House, President Bush will hold talks on May 12 with the presidents of Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. The Bush administration has recently stepped up its efforts to win approval for the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). The Central American nations hope the U.S. Congress will vote on CAFTA in late May or early June. Bush Pushes CAFTA in Press Conference - White House - April 28, 2005 During the question and answer period of his press conference on Thursday, President Bush said: "As you know, there will be a vote for the Central American Free Trade Agreement here, hopefully soon....
